The return of a crazy dreamer in the strange year 2020

Hey guys it's been a while this sister wrote anything and i'm so excited to be back.

Now not so long ago we were so eager to start a new year but what we didn't know at the time was 2020 had so much more in store for us and most of all our big plans would change. I'm still hopeful that all my big plans will pan out and i'm more than grateful to be alive with all that is going on.

Who would have guessed that one little virus would change the world forever. I can't imagine what people that have lost their loved ones to this virus are going through but i pray for stength for them and to all the frontliners you all are the real MVPs and you will be blessed for your efforts.

I've been absent for too long but i believe i'm back to stay because 2020 may have just given me the push i've needed so badly to start writing again.

I really hope with all the entertainment out there you'll still spare a minute for me.
I promise to be more engaging with my post.
I'm so pumped to be back and i have lots of exciting gist and tips for everyone.

Now get ready for my next story.
It's going to be juicy 😊😊😊😊

AN OPEN LETTER TO MY MOTHER

Hello readers,
While wishing everyone a good week ahead i'm going to post something today that will make you think of your mom whether she is dead or alive.Today i'm writing an open letter to my mum for the world to see. She may not be on any social media sites but if anyone every screws her over that person will have me to contend with first. Here is how my letter goes.

Dear mother,
I know i'm that child that has brought tears the most to your eyes. I'm really sorry for all those times mum. You are the best mother i could ever wish for. I can't even begin to mention the countless times you've rescued me from destruction and danger

I know i'm that child that may have given you reason to doubt motherhood. Mummy if i could turn back the hands of time i would and be loyal to you every minute of the way. I can only promise to be a better person henceforth.

I know i haven't spoken to you alot about anything but i've just realized you are the easiest person on earth to have a conversation with. We may not always agree but you actually listen and you also let my burden bother you.

Thank you for being the best mother one could have ever wished for. Thank you for teaching me all the things i know today.Thank you also teaching me the type of love to show to my children when i have them.
Thank you for praying everyday for me to be safe.

Mom i don't know if i've ever said this but i love you very much.

Your daughter,
Chiemena.

Damn writing this letter felt so good.
Now i urge everyone to try and do the same.
Meanwhile i'm not as stubborn as the letter sounds. You are welcome to send your comments.

Nigerian Education versus Education Abroad

Hello Readers, I hope everyone is having a great day.
Now i'm ready to share my thoughts on the educational system in Nigeria and also on the educational system abroad (focusing on schools in the UK). This is not going to be a boring post i promise ( i still wonder who invented education. *eyes rolling*, waka pass).
People don't get me wrong, but going to school in Nigeria is really tough (in my opinion its a nightmare come true) and fun at the same time (if you choose the activity life). I learnt alot in my days in UNI (i was a lazy student though). All those unnessecary handouts and lecturer's textbook one had to buy in those days (its not like we read them ohhhh), we starked our houses with items that were not usually relevant to the particular course or topic of study. Oh how can i forget all those threats of "if you don't read my textbook for exam you will fail" (no comment).
Did i forget to add that the library system is almost non-existent.
Then waiting a whole year before you saw your result (on countless occassion results were usually released a day to the exam of that course in another session). Imagine you had a resit and hadn't read and the result came out a day before the resit ( gi na chi).
The education system in Nigeria really needs a miracle (can't bring myself to say it has failed cos i went through the same system and still survived somehow).
Now schooling abroad is almost hassle free. When i first started school in England i was baffled by the way moodle worked and the email system of contacting your lecturers directly (in my country to speak or lay a complaint to a lecturer is like winning the lottery). Then came the first course when i heard about plagarism (Nigerians are so used to copy and paste no editing attitude), confusion set it. I ran from pillar to post trying to figure it out.
The library is amazing (i even read in it a few times as i generally hate reading), finding books is so easy. The system just works. We even develop skills from here ( Presentations helped me improve my speech pattern). You find your weak spots and improve on it (i fought my stage phobia).
Coming abroad to school has given a different perspective about education (not like i will ever enrol to do a Phd sha).Honestly, its interesting how the system works elsewhere.

Given the different scenarios i don't know if its safe to say that the lecturers in Nigeria need to put in more effort (make suggestions on how to make learning easier for students). They make many claims of how they are underpaid for doing nothing in actual fact (my opinion).
Government claims to spend alot on education. What exactly do they spend on? The buildings or the Vice-Chancellors! (i'm really struggling here to find out what exactly they spend the budget on)
This nonchalant attitude towards everything in Nigeria has to stop. I sincerely think its the only way we can go forward.

I may be completely wrong about everything i've written but its my opinion and i take responsibility for it.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.
Enjoy the rest of the people and hope you had a good read.

LESSONS LEARNT ABOUT LIFE

Hello Readers, i'm so sorry i haven't written anything in a long time. I have been dealing with the many pressures of life.

I trust everyone is doing okay.
I went back to school and trust me everyone its taking the piss out of me.
The journey into adulthood and responsiblity hasn't been an easy one for me (not saying i'm a spoilt brat ohhh).
Trying to be a better person is the most difficult decision one has to make in life especially when you may have followed the wrong path a few times in life.
Coming to England to study has taught me alot of things and it has also changed my perspective towards life.
I have met alot of nice people in this new life i have embraced. I now understand what the meaning of true friendship is (these friends obviously know themselves especially when dealing with my many shortcomings). Falling in love also happened but falling in love with someone doesn't necessarily mean that the other person will feel the same thing for you. Falling in love is a beautiful experience even if it doesnt always turn out the way we hope it would.
Now the craze of getting engaged and being married is presently in the air. I'm genuinely excited for all my friends that are taken (remember to hook up your single friends ohhhhh). I love you all especially Judith my darling (can't wait for the wedding of the year). Back to the conversation of the craze, i don't know if its just me or the extent ladies are going about this marriage thing is becoming really embarrasssing. Many Chicks even now go to the extent of crucifying one another to impress guys (i just wonder what the world is becoming). Now shaking my head in Coventry style.
I have been confused alot recently, i always thought the simplest rule of life was to be your real self always but i just realized thats loads of people judge you for being the real you. So i wonder if its better to pretend and put up a front but then again i wonder how long one can pretend for.
Life is really hard because everyone has a different approach towards.
Is it possible to please everyone you come across? i simply wonder.
Above all, the most important thing life has taught me is that God will never fail you if you cast all your cares on him.
I hope everyone is enjoying the world cup the way i'm enjoying it. its being full of suprises. Imagine how spain has been disgraced (super embarrassed for the defending champions). The case of Nigeria is in the hand of God (yawn). Diaris God in the voice of my country's first lady (mama peace),
Done musing for the day, i hope i get back to the spirit of blogging with this piece.

SOCIAL MEDIA:GOOD OR BAD

Hello readers, how have you all been? I'm guessing y'all are doing great.

In recent times, i can't help but wonder if the social media has helped us positively or negatively. I know we get first hand gossip and all online. This gist/gossip almost always end up being fake and damage is usually done to some images.
On the otherhand we get proper news and usually help our security agencies bring defaulters to the book.

In all of this i think i can only come to one conclusion.Social media has advantages and disadvantages. So now i ponder and wonder if the disadvantages don't outweigh the advantages.
For instance the social media has been reason for the of end many relationships and marriages. It has created lots of false alarms in crime fighting. This are but a few of the harms of social media.

I have resolved personally to always wait for the root of the matter before i base my judgement on any gist or social media gimmick.I think we should also do same before we go judging others, because no one is perfect.
I for one would be careful how i judge others cos it could be any one of us.

In line with this little write-up, i urge everyone to go easy on how will believe things said and written online.Penny for your thoughts people.

Do have a great day and thank you for reading.Your comments are welcome.

PICTURES THAT GOT MY ATTENTION

This pictures got my attention.

Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum in a Dragon's mouth

The "Project Runway" host found herself with her head in the mouth of a dragon, but i hear she made it out OK (just kidding). The mom of four ran into her new friend backstage at DreamWorks' "How To Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular

Sofia Vergara
Sofia Vergara
I wonder wat she saw and Sofia Vergara hasn't suddenly developed a beer belly and she's not actually pregnant. The Colombian beauty was just wearing a prosthetic stomach while shooting a scene for "Modern Family" at Los Angeles mall The Grove on Tuesday. As for why her shirt was unbuttoned and her bra was showing, well, i can't answer that

Manchester United make breakthrough in talks to sign Van Persie from Arsenal

Now this is a really sad development for me because i'm an arsenal fan.But i wish him well in whatever decision he makes.

The clubs held talks on Tuesday night and the Old Trafford side are now set to make an improved bid as they look to reach an agreement with the Gunners, who want at least £20m.

 Robin Van Persie - Arsenal

Arsenal want at least £20 million for their captain but United have until now been reluctant to offer more than £15m for a player who is 29 and has just one year remaining on his contract.

The new offer is likely to be close to Arsenal’s asking price once add-ons are included as the two clubs attempt to reach an agreement and draw a conclusion to the summer saga.

United are firmly in pole position to sign Van Persie and could even complete a move for the Dutch striker before their Premier League opener against Everton next Monday.

Goal.com revealed last week that the demand of Van Persie's agent, Kees Vos, for a £4m cut in the deal has threatened to scupper his chances of a move to Old Trafford.

Manchester City had previously been favourites to land last season's double player of the year but have put their interest on hold due to the finances involved and their difficulty in selling Emmanuel Adebayor, Edin Dzeko and Roque Santa Cruz.

Juventus are also out of the running for the former Feyenoord man, leaving United with a clear run despite Arsenal's reluctance to sell their star player to a Premier League rival.

The Gunners, however, appear to have concluded that they would rather sell Van Persie than keep an unhappy player in the squad who can leave on a free transfer next summer.

Van Persie, who is currently in Belgium on international duty with the Netherlands squad, has publicly announced that he will not sign a new Arsenal contract.

Sir Alex Ferguson was unsure when asked last week about United’s chances of landing the man who was the Premier League's top scorer last term with 30 goals.

"We have made a bid and they've [Arsenal] been trying to negotiate with other clubs," said Ferguson. "I don't have a gut feeling on it at the moment, I must admit.

"We're not getting any breakthrough with Arsenal. It's difficult to say why they're operating this way. I don't know what their thoughts are, because they're not giving anything away."

But Van Persie now looks likely to complete a switch to Old Trafford where he will join new signings Nick Powell, Shinji Kagawa and Angelo Henriquez, who will complete a £4m move to the club after undergoing a medical.

THE ILLS OF CARRYING BIG BAGS

hey readers how are you all doing this beautiful monday morning. This write up i'm about to put is for all my beautiful ladies out there that have a thing for big bags.I'm also guility of this offence, so after reading a certain piece of information i decided to share it with all them damsels out there.

We all know the basic contents in a woman's, these include a makeup purse, cells phones umbrella, purse, laptop, etc. With all of this the bag would weigh an awful lot.Its feels like lifting 10kg of rice on ur shoulder.I wish my mother could read this and stop carry the whole world in her handbag sha.

What heavy bags do to us.
  • it affects the neck.
  • it affects the shoulder and back.Carrying a heavy bag can overtime lead to painful arthritis in the facet joints, it can also lead to disc degeneration and prolapse overtime. The pain can be agonising and may even require surgery to be corrected.
  • it affects the arms. The arm that carries the bag is usually static while walking to keep the load still and balanced.Without the normal arm swing used as a balance mechanism, you can become slightly unsteady and might need greater effort to move. The nerves surrounding the arm could get irritated leading to chronic pains.
  • it affects the legs. Carrying a heavy bag makes our steps shorter normally, this happens because our body tries to remain upright and control the load better. The more load in the bag the more pressure on the leg joints which overtime can cause wear and tear.It could also cause joint problems.
How we should carry our bags.
  • The items in a bag should be limited and distributed evenly. If you need alot of items you can carry two bags(it may sound crazy but this is serious).
  • If you have to carry one bag, don't carry it for too long.Try to switch sides at regular intervals, so the muscles can rest.
  • A satchel-style bag dat crosses the body diagonally is also a good option as it balances the weight.
  • A short strap is better than a long strap one because it brings the bag close to your body.
I hope you all learnt a thing or two from this write up.Do have a blessed day people

RAMADAN MESSAGE FOR PEACE

Dear Readers is ramadan the only time when there should be peace in the country.
Just thinking out aloud sha.

A PDP chieftain, Kawu Baraje, has appealed to people with criminal tendencies to show respect for the holy month of Ramadan and shun all negative tendencies.
Baraje, who is the proprietor of Baraje Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies in Ilorin Kwara and a former PDP national chairman, made the call in his Ramadan message to Muslim faithful in Ilorin on Saturday.
He appealed to evil doers and criminals to shun killing of innocent souls and other social vices during the holy month of Ramadan by moving closer to God.
He said they should have a complete change of mind even after the Ramadan period because Islam preaches peace and harmony.
The PDP chieftain described the new dimension in crime wave in the country, such as bombing and kidnapping, as alien to Nigeria.
According to him, the actions are not only alien to our culture and tradition but also to both Islam and Christianity.
Baraje called on Muslim faithful and religious leaders to be more sincere and firm in their sermons so that people would change for the better.
He called on the government and the governed to continue to operate together and trust each other as preached by the Holy Prophet Mohammed in his time.
Baraje also urged security operatives to be more proactive in their efforts to curb crime, and the citizenry to always provide useful information to security agents about people with questionable characters.
He appealed to wealthy Muslim faithful to continue to give Zakat to the less privileged and donate generously to the propagation of Islam.

10 WAYS TO PREVENT A HEART ATTACK

Hello readers today i'm writing about very serious stuff.Pay serious attention to this write up even if your are not yet 30years of age.

The heart disease is the number one killer of men and women around the world.People over 65years of age are great at risk.8 out of 10 people over 65years usually die of a heart disease.
There are different ways to reduce the risk of a heart attack.

1) Know the early warning signs and seek treatment right away.
Typical symptoms of a pending heart attack will include; Chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations (racing or pounding heart), swelling of the leg, bluish skin colour,a prolonged, unexplained cough, coughing up blood, persistent fatigue, passing out.

2) Talk to the doctor about medications that might increase risk.
Hormone replacement theraphy, rosiglitazone (for diabetes), and COX-2 inhibitors (for controlling arthritis pain) are all examples of medications that may increase the risk of heart attack. Review medications with the doctor and ask if there are less risky alternatives.

3) Control blood pressure.
High blood pressure is a major risk factor for heart attack. If there is has been a diagnosis of pre-hypertension (120/80 mm Hg to 139/89 mm Hg) or hypertension 140/90 mm Hg or higher), blood pressure should be treated. The doctor will prescribe the appropriate medications, but blood pressure needs regular monitoring.

4) Make sure diabetes is under control.
Three out of four people with diabetes will die of some type of heart or vessel disease. But by keeping blood sugar under control and taking any recommended medication, a diabetic can reduce his risk.

5) Follow a heart-healthy diet.
The best bet is a diet rich in whole grains , vegetables, fruits, fish, poultry, lean meats , and low-fat or fat-free dairy products. You should limit intake of fat cholesterol. Women should consume no more than one alcoholic beverage per day, men no more than (i didn'y say you pple shld become drunks ohhhhhh).

6) Regular exercise.
Exercise is essential for general cardio-vascular health and its key to preventing a heart attack. It is recommended to accumulate at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity at least five days a week on most days.

7) Achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
Being overweight or obese is a major risk factor for heart disease. The best way to determine whether you are overweight or obese is to calculate your body mass index, or BMI. You can calculate their BMI at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website. People with a BMI of 25.0 to 29.9 are considered overweight; people with a BMI of 30.0 or greater are considered obese. If you meet either of these criteria, talk to the doctor about setting safe weight-loss goals. The best way to lose weight is by limiting calories and increasing activity, but if that approach is unsuccessful, counseling or even medical intervention may be necessary.

8) Stop smoking.
Smoking is one of the biggest risk factors for heart attack. If you smoke, quitting can reduce the risk of heart attack by 50% or more.

9) Manage stress and depression.
Emotional and psychological state can have a very real effect on physical health. An important aspect of maintaining good cardiovascular health and avoiding heart attack is minimising stress, anger, and depression.Try these stress-busting strategies:
• Cut back on caffeinated beverages and alcohol.
• Try meditation or yoga.
• Play relaxing music.
• Go for a walk outdoors.
• For parents, if you’ve tried everything and still feel concerned about their mood, talk to his doctor. Depression is a serious but treatable illness.
10) Keep “bad” cholesterol levels low.Another major risk factors for heart attack is a high bloodstream level of LDL, or “bad” cholesterol. Ideally, total cholesterol should be no more than 200 mg/dL (milligrams per deciliter), and no more than five times the level of HDL or “good” cholesterol; LDL levels should be below 70 mg/dL. Make sure cholesterol levels are checked regularly and treated if necessary. Following a low-fat diet and exercising regularly may help, but it might not be enough. If cholesterol levels don’t respond to lifestyle changes, the doctor may prescribe medication.
So with all of these tips i hope y'all have learnt a thing or two.
Do have a healthy life henceforth.
Me always.

APOLOGY FOR LONG ABSENCE

Hello readers, its being a while i wrote anything on this blog page. Was busy with some things that took up my whole time.i plan to make it up to everyone. So stay tuned readers.lots of gist on they way.

Thursday 21 June 2012

RECENT HAPPENINGS

Hello readers,i know i've been absent for a while.Busy with stuff i just couldn't find any time to write.
Alot of things have happened since the last time i wrote. So i decided to write all the different gist in different paragraphs on this write up.

I'm starting with BBA.Since the inception of the show the stargame has proved to be the most violent show of all them.A total number of 4 housemates have left the house because of this violence. We already know they are but if you don't know their names already i'll be writing it out, there was the DKB and Zaniab fighting/slapping paroles and then yesterday it was Roki and Maneta.Maneta is a weirdo as far as i'm concerned, who dears to pour dish washer into someone's eyes?Ohhh i know that answer,Maneta.Who dears to pour water on people's bed and hair? That would be Roki.He didn't really deserve to go sha but it was the only decision biggy could come up with..
Still on BBA, Goldie and Prezzo that is a real stupid joke to me.How on earth did that happen.Goldie happens to be the most annoying housemate in the show. You all know that those in downville are now aware that there's another house.Season 7 of BBA according to my rating is officially the most annoying show on TV.Done with that Gist

Next port of call is the MBGN story. When the show happened in May of this year i said it felt like there was some element of fraud.Well now i guess i'm proud to say there was some truth in that afterall. Please people where in the world does the 1st runner up represent the country in the Miss World competition when the winner is still very much alive, healthy and available.Well you already know the answer is Nigeria. Its really shameful to know that nothing is fair in this country again.Ben Murray Bruce's explanation sha doesn't work for me.Na wa ohhhhh.Ohh well i hope Damiete Charles Granville that is now representing us will do us proud.Wishing her the best.

Now time to visit the story of the BH (Boko Haram) bombing in Kaduna.Sundays in Nigeria seem to now be referred to as black sundays because in recent times the most deaths occur on sunday.I'm sure most of us already heard about the dozens of people that were butchered on sunday.
With all these killings i begin to wonder where we are headed in this country. In the face of all this, our president is in Brazil.Meanwhile billions of naira was voted on security this year and we are still unprotected. No where is safe anymore. This is the only country a terrorist gets only 3years jail time, after a homosexual gets 14years for being gay(not like i'm advocating for the gay community or anything). We can only be the ones to protect ourselves.
Come to think of it we have gradually becoming Afghanistan and Iraq.Where working the streets or going to church is almost a nightmare.Sitting down and praying for the best is not really going to help us.We need to act quick. That been said i'm done with this topic.

The most interesting of all the topics is the Farouk Lawan/Femi Otedola in the subsidy bribe allegation scandal. It sounds better to me this way.Like we all heard that Mr Lawan took $620,000 subsidy bribe from Mr Otedola and Mr Lawan denied it.
My attention has been drawn to several newspapers and internet stories alleging that a prominent member of the House Adhoc Committee on Petroleum subsidy demanded and received the sum of $600,000.00 as bribe from an oil marketer.
I wish to categorically deny that I or any member of the committee demanded and received any bribe from anybody in connection with the fuel subsidy probe and I believe this is evident from the thorough and in depth manner the investigation was carried out and the all-encompassing recommendations produced therefrom as approved by the whole House.
This became the first part of the gist well atleast till he agreed he collected bribe. The funny thing is two people are involved in this scandal but it seems only one person is taking the fall.Well they keep going back and forth and other names are beginning to pop up but Farouk Lawan's name is still making headlines. My general conclusion is that some people want the subsidy case dead so the had to look for someone to take the fall.Even video tapes can be photoshopped.Thank God for the Internet.Let's hope Farouk Lawan is vindicated as they always are in the end of all the drama.
The subsidy probe must continue ohhhhh.

The last topic that was really interesting to me is that of the SEC DG Ms Aruma Oteh.Remember her sharp mouth and all the drama that followed with the house of Rep guy Hembe and all the Accusations thrown at Ndi Okereke Onyiuke.Well it seems that the tables have turned on her,and maybe she has stepped on alot of toes too.Ohh did i fail to mention she got suspended, so that an unfettered investigation into several allegations against her management, particularly allegations of misappropriation of N3billion on the controversial Project 50 programme and she petitioned President Jonathan to get the order reversed.I'm thinking she has forgotten how politics is played in Nigeria. She should keep her reputation and let sleeping dogs lie ohhhh.

Well these are all the topics that interested me recently.I promise to be more forthcoming with stories.
Thanks to everyone that had the time to read this piece and drop a comment.Lots of love people.i got to go now.

DANA AIR PLANE CRASH

Hello readers,
The last Few days have been terrible for all of us.I'm still in shock.Alot of us have been thrown into mourning.Imagine speaking to your friend and next minute the person is no more or speaking to your parents and next thing you are going to identify their corpse.Trying to write this piece has felt like lifting a very heavy cross of my shoulders. So i decided i wouldn't put up any pictures from the mishap.
I have tried to imagine countless times what went on in the minds of the victims knowing they had met their death.I've also tried to understand the pain families of the victims are going. This is a big blow to all of us.Not forgetting to mention the unsuspectig victims resting on that black sunday afternoon in their homes. How could they have known it was their last time with members of their different families.

In all of this i have decided to say that the system in this country just doesn't work.20 mins was enough to rescue some people aboard that flight. What happened to the rescue teams? Why didn't they show up before the plane went up in flames?
This is just sad.If only our leaders would look away from corruption and make all the sectors of our economy functional.
It's time for us to stop waiting for disasters to happen and then realize that the sector be probed.Alot of lives have being scarificed because no one cared enough to inspect the commercial airlines. The road disasters that happen, happen because no one cared enough to probe the licenses of most of the drivers.
Most of us in the regulating agencies  turn our faces when money is flashed in them. For how are we going let corruption to keep having its way in our country.Corruption in Nigeria is apparently worse than HIV/AIDS as it stands presently.

I weep for this nation because the younger generation are most likely to be worse than the older generation. This is the only place being meticulous is a problem.

I pray for all the souls that lost their lives in this past weekend tragedies, ranging from the plane crash disaster to the Boko Haram bombing and all the car crashes.May the Good Lord who sees everything and knows all things grant them rest and I also pray The Almighty God will let justice prevail.Eternal life grant them oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.

I also pray for all those families that have lost anyone in any of these recent disasters,May Christ comfort and console them and give them hope to move on with life as He will see them through.

R.I.P TO ALL THE 153 PESINS ABOARD THAT AIIRCRAFT
R.I.P TO ALL THOSE THAT LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE COURSE OF THE PLANE CRASHING DOWN
R.I.P TO ALL THOSE LIVES LOST IN THE BOKO HARAM CRISIS
R.I.P TO ALL LIVES LOST IN AUTO CRASHES.

ETERNAL LIFE GRANT THEM OH LORD,AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

BRACES: CUTE OR GEEKISH OR NERDISH

Hello people,
Decided to write about braces today.I wore them at some point of my adult life and some folks thought it was cute and at the time ugly betty was airing on TV and the show described it as hideous, weird and nerdish.
Most american middle and high school movies describe them as such too.
But nigerians are the only ones that think it's cute and this thought is for two reasons. The reasons omg their parents must have money sha and the other reason is they like when u change the colour of the plastic bands attached to it therefore its like a fashion statement. SMH.
Now i wish i had pictures from when i had braces on.At the time i wore them i was in the university and i felt weird but the good thing is that most people thought it was the new fashion trend. It was weird because my boyfriend at the time felt if he kissed me it'll come off so kissing was like a big deal.In all of this i give plenty of thanks to my dad who paid my braces bill. Now i can afford to smile without putting my hands over my mouth. That explains how horrible my dentition looked at the time.

Now let's start with defining Braces
Dental braces (also known as orthodontic braces, or simply braces) are devices used in orthodontics that align and straighten teeth and help to position them with regard to a person's bite, while also working to improve dental health. They are often used to correct underbites, as well as malocclusions, overbites, cross bites, open bites, deep bites, crooked teeth, and various other flaws of the teeth and jaw. Braces can be either cosmetic or structural. Dental braces or orthodontic braces are often used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances to help widen the palate or jawsand to otherwise assist in shaping the teeth and jaws.

Braces consist of a metal , plastic and/or a porcelain band that is placed along the entire top and/or bottom row of teeth. They are worn for several months or years to gradually realign the teeth or push them together.

Braces

The application of braces moves the teeth as a result of force and pressure on the teeth. There are four basic elements that are needed in order to help move the teeth. In the case of traditional metal or wire braces, one uses brackets, bonding material, arch wire, and ligature elastic, also called an “O-ring”to help align the teeth. The teeth move when the arch wire puts pressure on the brackets and teeth. Sometimes springs or rubber bands are used to put more force in a specific direction. Braces have constant pressure, which over time, move teeth into their proper positions. Occasionally adults may need to wear headgear to keep certain teeth from moving. When braces put pressure on one's teeth, the periodontal membrane stretches on one side and is compressed on the other. This movement needs to be done slowly otherwise the patient risks losing his or her teeth. This is why braces are commonly worn for approximately two and a half years and adjustments are only made every three or four weeks.
This process loosens the tooth and then new bone grows in to support the tooth in its new position which is technically called bone remodeling. Bone remodeling is a biomechanical process responsible for making bones stronger in response to sustained load-bearing activity and weaker in the absence of carrying a load. Bones are made of cells called osteoclasts and osteoblasts. Two different kinds of bone resorption are possible which are called direct resorption, starting from the lining cells of the alveolar bone, and indirect or retrograde resorption, which takes place when the periodontal ligament has become subjected to an excessive amount and duration of compressive stress. Another important factor associated with tooth movement is bone deposition. Bone deposition occurs in the distracted periodontal ligament and without bone deposition, the tooth will loosen and voids will occur distal to the direction of tooth movement. A tooth will usually move about a millimeter per month during orthodontic movement, but there is high individual variability. Orthodontic mechanics can vary in efficiency, which partly explains the wide range of response to orthodontic treatment.

TYPES OF BRACES.
  • Traditional metal-wired braces are stainless steel, sometimes in combination with titanium, and are the most widely used. These include conventional braces, which require ties to hold the archwire in place, and newer self-tying (or self-ligating) brackets. Self-ligating brackets may reduce friction between the wire and the slot of the bracket, which in turn might be of therapeutic benefit.
  • "Clear" braces serve as a cosmetic alternative to traditional metal braces by blending in more with the natural colour of the teeth or having a less conspicuous or hidden appearance. Typically, these brackets are made of ceramic or plastic materials and function in a similar manner to traditional metal brackets. Clear elastic ties and white metal ties are available to be used with these clear braces to help keep the appliances less conspicuous. Clear braces have a higher component of friction and tend to be more brittle than metal braces. This can make removing the appliances at the end of treatment more difficult and time consuming.
  • Gold-plated stainless steel braces are often employed for patients allergic to nickel (a basic and important component of stainless steel), but may also be chosen because some people simply prefer the look of gold over the traditional silver-coloured braces.
  • Lingual braces (examples of which are SureSmile QT,Incognito Braces) are custom made fixed braces bonded to the back of the teeth making them invisible to other people. In lingual braces the brackets are cemented onto the backside of the teeth making them invisible while in standard braces the brackets are cemented onto the front side of the teeth. Hence, lingual braces are a cosmetic alternative to those who do not wish the braces to be visible.
  • Titanium braces resemble stainless steel braces but are lighter and just as strong. People with allergies to the nickel in steel often choose titanium braces, but they are more expensive than stainless steel braces.

Traditional braces are mostly used in treating children, as well as adults. They consist of a small bracket that is glued to the front of each tooth and the molars are adjusted with a band that encircles the tooth. An advantage is one can eat and drink while wearing the brace but a disadvantage is that one must give up certain foods and eating habits while wearing them, such as, chewing gum and potato chips. Another disadvantage is they have to be periodically tightened by your orthodontist causing increased amounts of discomfort.Well or so they say. When i had them on i ate anything trust me.

TREATMENT PLAN
Well let's talk about the treatment plan when you embark before you embark on the braces wearing mission. In my case it was pure torture cos i still remember my lost teeth, the injections and all those many checkups.
The first step is to determine whether braces are suitable for the patient. The doctor consults with the patient and inspects the teeth visually. If braces are appropriate, a records appointment is set up where X-rays, molds, and impressions are made. This impressions can choke you sha. These records are analyzed to determine the problems and proper course of action. The use of digital models is rapidly increasing in the orthodontic industry. Digital treatment starts with the creation of a three-dimensional digital model of the patient's arches. This model is produced by laser-scanning plaster models created using dental impressions. Computer-automated treatment simulation has the ability to automatically separate the gums and teeth from one another and can handle malocclusions well. This software enables clinicians to ensure, in a virtual setting, that the selected treatment will produce the optimal outcome, with minimal user input.
Typical treatment times vary from six months to two and a half years depending on the complexity and types of problems. In my own case i think i carried it for close to 3 years. Orthognathic surgery may be required in extreme cases. About 2 weeks before the braces are applied, orthodontic spacers are required to spread apart back teeth in order confirm enough space for the bands.
Teeth to be braced will have an adhesive applied to help the cement bond to the surface of the tooth. In most cases the teeth will be banded and then brackets will be added. A bracket will be applied with dental cement, and then cured with light until hardened. This process usually takes a few seconds per tooth. If required, orthodontic spacers may be inserted between the molars to make room for molar bands to be placed at a later date. Molar bands are required to ensure brackets will stick. Bands are also utilized when dental fillings or other dental work make securing a bracket to a tooth infeasible.
An archwire will be threaded between the brackets and affixed with elastic or metal ligatures. Elastics are available in a wide variety of colors. Archwires are bent, shaped, and tightened frequently to achieve the desired results. Brackets with hooks can be placed, or hooks can be created and affixed to the archwire to affix the elastic to. The placement and configuration of the elastics will depend on the course of treatment and the individual patient. Elastics are made in different diameters, colors, sizes, and strengths.
Usually you get i long list of don'ts when you wear braces but i sure as hell broke all of them.My teeth still came out perfect you can see from my smiles.

Each month or two, the braces must be adjusted. The checkups were annoying cos Mr bigg's rice didn't feel so interesting after a checkup. This helps shift the teeth into the correct position. When they get adjusted the orthodontist takes off the colored rubber bands keeping the wire in place. The wire is then taken out, and may be replaced or modified. When the wire has been placed back into the mouth, the patient may choose a color for the new rubber bands, which are then fixed to the metal brackets. The adjusting process may cause some discomfort, which is normal.

Post Braces Treatment. In order to avoid the teeth moving back to their original position, retainers may be worn once the treatment with braces is complete.
Patients may need post-orthodontic surgery, such as a fiberotomy or alternatively a gum lift, to prepare their teeth for retainer use and improve the gumline contours after the braces come off.

Retainers
In order to prevent the teeth moving back to their original position, retainers may be worn once the treatment with braces is complete for the patient depending on their specific needs. If the patient does not wear the braces appropriately for the right amount of time, the teeth may move towards their previous position. For regular traditional braces Hawley retainers are used. They are made of metal hooks that surround the teeth and are enclosed by an acrylic plate shaped to fit the patient's palate. For invisalign braces an Essix retainer is used. They are similar to the regular invisalign braces and is a clear plastic tray that is firmly fitted to the teeth that stays in place. There is also a bonded retainer where a wire is permanently bonded to the lingual side of the teeth, usually the lower teeth only. Doctors will sometimes refuse to remove this retainer, and it may require a special orthodontic appointment to have it removed.Trust me i barely wore mine.Still in my room somewhere. But you should cos you may not be so lucky.

Retainers.
Treatment time for braces. It could be carried for a minium of 6 months and maximium of 6 years in very severe and extreme cases. Most people where their for 1-2 years usually.
They are quite affordable. So if you can afford it you should go for it.If your dad is as loving as mine trust me he'll take you to a dentist to  fix your dentition problem.

End of braces story.well next time i'll take a picture of my smile so y'all can see.

CHOOSING MAKE UP FOR YOUR SKIN TONE

hello readers, today i'm going to be writing alot more for the ladies.
most of my talk this morning will be about make-up.like you already read from my profile i also indulge in make up too.

Make up should enhance beauty not  mask it. Choosing a shade of make-up that doesn't suit your skin tone can be a horrible thing.i'm sure alot of  you are guility of this offence especially when it comes to choosing the right shades of foundation, powder and blushes. So before you set out to buy any make-up item, you will need to be sure of your skin tone first and what suits the given skin tone.

Most times when some us go to buy make-up, we buy them for the wrong reasons. For instance,
some people buy because of how expensive the product is.
some others because a friend uses it
and for some others because it's time to look good.

In any case if you have to buy make-up especially foundations, blushes and powders always remember you are a woman of colour, so basically not all the expensive make up you hear of will suit yor skin tone.It is also preferable to buy products that suit the african skin tone too.

TIPS ON HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT MAKE-UP.

Foundation-To buy foundation that suits your skin tone there are two things you must do.
Make sure you go to a proper make shop to buy your products from because they'll be able to test different shades on your face.To get the actual shade for your skin  tone it must and should be tested on your jawline.

Powder- The same that goes for buying your foundation also applies to buying your powder.

Blush- When buying your blush try to buy one that suits your skin tone.If you are really dark i don't expect you to buy a really pink blush.

Eyeshadow- Choose colours that will complement your skin tone and enhance your eye colour. Not neccessarily the same shades will work for a light skinned person and a dark skinned person.

Lipstick-Be very careful when you choose lipsticks.cos usually not all lipstticks can go for the different skin tones. Also buy lipglosses to give a shine to the lipsticks.Clear glosses work the magic on any lipstick.

So ladies with this i'm sure we won't go about making the same mistake. So long till my next post.Which i hope will be soon.XOXO.Mena.

MARIO BALOTELLI OF MANCHESTER CITY

Hello readers, i consider this player i'm going to write about today a disturbed child. He is the most violent player in the English premiership. You all know him with his weird looking hair cut.If that's the new trend for mohawks its definitely a fashion don't.

Manchester City's Italian striker Mario Balotelli watches play during the English Premier League football match between Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers at The Etihad stadium in Manchester, north-west England on May 13, 2012.
Let's take a look at his background and see if we can link his actions to his upbringing
Mario Balotelli, born in Palermo, 12 August 1990, has Ghanan and Italian nationality but – “I am Italian, I feel Italian, always play with the Italian National

Born in Palermo in the district of Borgo Nuovo by Thomas and Rose Barwuah, migrants Ghanaian.

As an infant, he had life-threatening complications with his intestines which led to a series of operations, although his condition had improved by 1992. Mario's health problems and the family's cramped living conditions meant the Barwuahs decided to ask for the help of social services who recommended that he be fostered. In 1993, the Barwuah family agreed to entrust the three-year-old boy to Francesco and Silvia Balotelli, with the legal move formalized by the Court of Brescia.

Enoch and Mario Balotelli
When Mario Balotelli became famous, his biological parents asked for his return. He later accused them of "glory hunting", stating that they only wanted him back because of the prominence he had gained.According to Law 91 of 5 February 1992, Balotelli had to wait until his 18th birthday to request Italian citizenship, as the Balotellis had not adopted him, and he officially gained citizenship on 13 August 2008.
He has three biological siblings, Abigail, Enoch and Angel.Enoch Barwuah, two years his junior, had a trial at English Premier League side Stoke City in December 2011.

Balotelli was never officially adopted but made a conscious decision to turn his back on his Ghanaian heritage. He took the surname of his adopted parents and represented Italy’s Under 21 side.

Perhaps it was the teenager’s way of surviving in the racially charged cauldron of northern Italy, where he was regarded as an outsider.

As his foster mother has said: ‘He was born and raised in Italy but had to suffer the humiliation and hardships of being considered a foreigner.’
In 2008, on his 18th birthday, Balotelli gained Italian citizenship and an Italian identification card — at a ceremony at Concesio’s city hall to which the Barwuahs were
not invited.
‘We didn’t know anything about that until we saw it on the news,’ said Mr Barwuah. ‘I didn’t even know he had taken the surname Balotelli. I thought he would still have our surname.’
It was also in 2008 that Balotelli claimed during a television interview that his birth parents had abandoned him in a hospital. The footballer had by then found fame at Inter Milan and claimed the Barwuahs were only interested in him for his money.
‘If I didn’t become Mario Balotelli then Mr and Mrs Barwuah would not have cared about me for anything,’ he said.

The accusation is deeply painful for Balotelli’s biological father, but Mr Barwuah’s patience is running out. His response is passionate and exasperated. He knows there is little chance of change now.

Balotelli began his career with Lumezzane. At the age of 15 he was promoted to the first team, making his first team debut in a Serie C1 league match against Padova.

Balotelli was signed by F.C. Internazionale Milano in 2006 on loan with a pre-set price of €150,000 to co-own the player. ] He made his first team and Serie A debut on 16 December 2007 replacing David Suazo in a 2–0 win against Cagliari.
Three days later he featured in the starting lineup in a Coppa Italia match against Reggina, scoring two goals in a 4–1 win.Balotelli gained national attention after he scored two goals against Juventus in the return leg of the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, being instrumental in a 3–2 away win for Inter. His first Serie A goal then came in April 2008 in a 2–0 away win against Atalanta

In November 2008 he scored his first Champions League goal in a 3–3 draw against Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta, becoming the youngest Inter player (at 18 years and 85 days) to score in the Champions League. This beat the previous record set by Obafemi Martins at 18 years and 145 days.

In April 2009 Balotelli scored Inter's goal in a 1–1 draw with Juventus and was racially abused by Juventus fans throughout the game, including chants such as "Black Italians do not exist". This led to Massimo Moratti saying that he would have pulled the team off the pitch if he had been present. The racist chants were also condemned by Juventus chairman Giovanni Cobolli Gigli and Juventus were given a one game home-fan ban because of the incident. Inter won Serie A for the fourth time in a row.

In his second season with Inter, Balotelli had a number of disciplinary problems, most notably involving head coach José Mourinho who excluded him from the first team in the second half of January 2009. Earlier that season Mourinho had accused Balotelli of showing a lack of effort in training stating "as far as I'm concerned, a young boy like him cannot allow himself to train less than people like Figo, Córdoba, and Zanetti."Balotelli continued to be the subject of racist chants throughout the season, becoming the focus of Juventus fans even during games not involving Inter, leading to Juventus being fined twice and the club ultimately punished with a partial stadium closure.

Balotelli's disciplinary problems, and his difficult relationship with Mourinho, continued in the 2009–10 season. In November Inter drew 1–1 against Roma and Mourinho criticized his players, even going as far as saying that Balotelli "came close to a zero rating".The young striker again incurred the wrath of Juve (Juventus) fans in the heated Derby d'Italia away encounter with Juventus on 5 December 2009 which Inter lost 2–1. When he was elbowed by Juve midfielder Felipe Melo in the shoulder he fell on the pitch clutching his face and was promptly booked, while Melo was sent off for a second yellow card. The incident sparked a fiery altercation between teammate Thiago Motta and Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
The tension between player and manager reached its peak on the eve of the UEFA Champions League second leg against Chelsea after the young striker was not called-up, following an altercation with Mourinho. Despite Inter's 1–0 win at Stamford Bridge, London, Balotelli was criticized by several senior players including captain Javier Zanetti and veteran defender Marco Materazzi as well as his own agent. In March he came under heavy criticism from fans after he publicly sported an A.C. Milan (Inter's cross-town rivals) jersey on the Italian show Striscia la Notizia.

Balotelli released a statement of apology in Inter Milan's official website that read:
"I am sorry for the situation that has been created recently. I am the first person who has suffered because I adore football and I want to play, and now I am waiting in silence so I can return to being useful to my team. I want to put the past behind me, look to the future and concentrate on the upcoming commitments and make myself ready."                                            Mario Balotelli.

After a spell out of the team, Balotelli was recalled for the match against Bologna and he marked his return with a goal in their 3–0 win. He soon caused controversy again in the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona on 20 April as he threw his jersey on the ground after the final whistle, in response to Inter fans who had booed him for his poor performance. This led to an attempt by a small group of supporters to physically attack Balotelli after the end of the game. His behaviour brought disapproval from fans, team-mates and football pundits

Manchester City's Mario Balotelli reacts during their English Premier League soccer match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in London April 8, 2012.

After weeks of speculation Inter reached an agreement for Balotelli's transfer to Manchester City on 12 August 2010, for €22 million. for which Inter made a profit of €21.856 million. At Manchester City Balotelli reunited with his former boss, Roberto Mancini who said, "his style of play will suit the Premier League, and because he is still so young there is a big chance for him to improve. He is a strong and exciting player, and City fans will enjoy watching him".
Balotelli eventually made his Premier League debut on 24 October as a substitute in a 3–0 home defeat to Arsenal and made his full debut on 30 October in a 2–1 away defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Balotelli scored his first and second Premier League goals on 7 November in a 2–0 away win to West Brom. In the same game Balotelli received a red card for violent conduct as the result of a clash with Youssuf Mulumbu, which his manager Roberto Mancini described as unfair.

On 21 December 2010 Balotelli won the Golden Boy Award, saying that only one of the past winners was slightly better than he was – Lionel Messi. He also claimed not to know of Arsenal's Jack Wilshere, the player he narrowly beat to the award.

On 22 January 2012, Balotelli came on as a substitute during a match against Tottenham Hotspur. He appeared to stamp on Scott Parker during the match against Tottenham. He was already booked but did not get a second yellow from referee Howard Webb who did not see the incident.Balotelli subsequently scored his first goal of 2012 , a injury-time penalty which secured a 3–2 win for City. He was charged for violent conduct for the kick against Scott Parker and was suspended for four matches, three for violent conduct and one for his second sending off. On 25 February, he scored his 10th league goal of the season in a 3–0 home win against Blackburn Rovers. He scored again the following game this time in a 2–0 win against Bolton. On 31 March, Balotelli scored twice as City drew 3–3 at home to Sunderland. However, Balotelli was criticised for his actions in the match, after squabbling with Aleksandar Kolarov over a free kick. Roberto Mancini claimed after the game he had considered substituting Balotelli just five minutes into the match. On 8 April 2012, Balotelli received his fourth red card, after earning his second yellow card during the match both against Bacary Sagna, during City's 1–0 loss to Arsenal in April 2012, after "a dangerous, chaotic, birdbrain performance".After the Arsenal match, Mancini appeared to have finally lost his patience with Balotelli, suggesting that Balotelli would not play any part in the remainder of City's season and be sold by the club.Despite this, Balotelli did make an appearance as a late substitute in the last game of the season, a title-deciding match against Queens Park Rangers. Balotelli provided the assist that allowed Sergio Aguero to score the 94th-minute winner that won City their first league title since 1968.

Balotelli is credited with pace, a forceful shot and technical ability, but criticised for a petulant attitude. He is often nicknamed mario the magician because of his skill with the ball and "Super Mario" and can play anywhere along the front line. Balotelli is also a set-piece specialist and is regarded as a promising but difficult young striker.
Mario Balotelli Arsenal v Manchester City - Premier League

Balotelli has been given a reputation by the media for being a difficult character and taking part in questionable activities. Manchester City supporters have a chant with lyrics referring to his behaviour, while musician Tinchy Stryder recorded a song in Balotelli's honour.
Within days of joining Manchester City, Balotelli was involved in a car crash. It was reported that Balotelli was carrying £5000 cash at the time - and that when a police officer asked why he had such a large sum of cash Balotelli replied: "Because I am rich".Off-field activities involving Balotelli have included driving into a women's prison in Italy and throwing darts at a youth team player during a training ground 'prank' Balotelli has also been subjected to tabloid rumours about him confronting a bully in a school after querying why a young City fan was not at school and giving £1000 to a homeless man on the streets of Manchester, allegations which subsequently turned out to be false.

In September 2011, Balotelli was reportedly seen using his iPad whilst on the substitutes' bench for Italy during their game with the Faroe Islands, although he denied this on a visit to a prison later that week.Balotelli has turned the garden of his Manchester home into a racetrack for quadbikes. Balotelli celebrated his goal against Manchester United in October 2011 by unveiling a shirt with the words: "Why always me?" on it - a celebration which seemingly disputes the accuracy of newspaper reports. The day before the match a firework was set off in Balotelli's home, and later that week he was unveiled as an ambassador for firework safety. On 5 November 2011, at the annual fireworks display at Edenbridge, Kent, a 12 m tall effigy of Balotelli was burned.
In December 2011, Balotelli broke a 48-hour curfew before City's game against Chelsea to go to a curry house, although he "was not drinking alcohol, signed autographs, posed for pictures with fellow diners and was involved in a mock sword-fight using rolling pins". The club launched an internal investigation and he could face disciplinary action. In the same month, it was reported that Balotelli visited his local church where he donated £200 and then visited a pub in Chorlton-cum-Hardy where he bought a £1000 round. Balotelli's jaunt and donation to church was later confirmed by the church's priest.

After Manchester City won the league on 13th May 2012, Balotelli promised on BBC Radio One to record a song in commemoration of the feat, entitled "Mr Mario and the Sky Blues".

I think he should go and read and learn how to deal with people.Cos i believe he is sick in the head and he wasn't a footballer he probably be in jail already. He is a good footballer and all but he needs to learn how to deal with other people.

WHY WOMEN ARE MOST LIKELY TO CHEAT ON THEIR SPOUSES

Hello readers,its being a while.I hope y'all are have a wonderful morning.
This little write up will cheer you up even more.

Everything that happens on earth happens for a reason and all questions have answers.

Therefore infidelity in women happen for various reasons.

Situations, husbands, boyfriends, revenge, pleasure, dissatisfaction, insecurity, these and many more  reasons why a woman will most likely cheat on her spouse.

1. Loneliness is one big reason
Most women feel they are taken for granted especially in situations where they leave their jobs and decide to be  stay at wives for their husband and mothers for their kids because they feel/think its their responsibility. Most times she begins to unappreciated when kind and nice words are not uttered to her. This feeling causes dispute amongst couples and it gives birth to loneliness. This loneliness can create attraction and feelings for another man, leading to infidelity.

2. Physical and emotional  need not being satisfied
Studies have proven that comparatively to men more women fall into an extramarital affair, when they are not physically satisfied by their partners. This means that women have more tendencies of falling into an extramarital relationship, if not physically satisfied with their married life. Like a men even women have sexual desires that need to be fulfilled. And hence when some women are not happy with the physical part of their married life they go into extramarital affairs.

3. Feel of excitement
Women like to be thrilled and excited. If you have noticed  new relationships bring the teenage excitement back. Not just a few women but every woman wants to live in the fairytale world of love. Fairytale love is almost impossible in reality. Most of the women accept that truth and live with it, whereas some keep hunting for the fairytale love of their life to keep the excitement on.

4. Need of love and romance
With passing years in a relationship there are a number of responsibilities that erupt. And as  couples or family we end up fulfilling these responsibilities. At this stage, love and romance between couples usually fade away or in some cases die. As years go along, love should grow stronger and not fade away.

5. Crumpling of self respect
In a male dominating world, everything has to work according to the man. At such places a woman is nothing but a puppet. Day in and day out her self-respect is thrashed. In such a society, the man forgets that the woman in his house is his wife, mother of his kids and an individual. In such cases if she comes across a man who respects her individuality, it is natural for her to develop feelings for him.
If given the right love and respect a few women will never ever think about cheating on their boyfriends or their husbands. However if cheating is only for excitement and thrill, it is difficult to stop cheating. You can still look at the above tips and correct the flaws in your relationship. A few rectifications can enhance love and understanding between couples.

I hope you ladies out there will take corrections from this little write.
